Alger Middle School
Alger Middle School is located right down the street and around the corner from our church. This school, built in 2006, is unique in that it is considered a “community school”. This type of school staffs a community coordinator who works to bring individuals from the community in to the building to be informed, involved, and support the school and its students and families.
At Alger Park Church we value this relationship with Alger Middle School. One of our staff members meets monthly with the Community Committee along with other local church staff members, members of local businesses, and a representative of the Neighborhood Association.
If you would like to get involved with Alger Middle School, please consider Adopting-a-Class. In doing so, you are partnered with a teacher and help out in a particular class for one hour once a week. This is a wonderful way to support that individual teacher and get to know an entire classroom of middle school students. You may be helping an individual student or small group with a homework assignment, helping to set up a science lab or project center, or simply assisting the teacher with the tasks of the day.
